2016-2017 Marks the 70th year since New Hampshire Chapter of the American Guild of Organists was organized and held it's first meeting on October 14, 1946  in Manchester.
This year we celebrated a little early on October 2, 2016 as guests of St. Paul's School Chapel Choir at their first Choral Evensong of the term.  Chapter officers were installed with Cheryl Duerr presiding and honoring our chapter with an award presented to us by the National Council.  Following the end of the service, a brief recital was played by NH-AGO members;  Bruce Adami, Adam Peithmann, Rob St. Cyr, Mary Dolch, and Eric Dolch.

This workshop will benefit organists considering taking an AGO Certification exam along with those who simply wish to increase their service playing skills. (Participants are encouraged to look in advance at the "centerfold" from the July 2016 TAO, Requirements for Certification 2017 Pg 43-46).  The national website has a PDF you can download HERE.  Any who are willing to be at the keyboard for any of the skills-based material or at the organ for the repertoire/accompaniments/hymn playing are encouraged to come prepared. Ken will have additional copies of the Requirements, some samples of old exams and sight-reading examples, and copies of his two articles from the TAO: It Don't Mean A Thing If You Can't Make Em Sing (a checklist of considerations for hymn-playing) and Transposition: Not A Four-Letter Word (ideas for approaches to transposition). He will also have on hand copies of most of the organ and choral repertoire contained in the two exams and copies of the current Examination Hymn Booklet. (Note that the Wayne Wold Trio from the Service Playing repertoire list is out of print).
